Shortcut-controlled recording

How Reco works

Press and hold the global shortcut, or double-tap it for latched recording.
Record the microphone, system audio from calls and media, or both.
Release the shortcut to transcribe locally and paste into the active app.

Transcribe from the command line

Install the companion CLI from Reco's menu, then use the running app to record audio or transcribe an existing file. The transcript prints to your terminal without pasting into another app.

Transcription model

Reco uses NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 through Core ML. The model downloads on first launch. Every recording after that is processed on-device.

Privacy

There is no transcription API. Recordings are temporary and deleted after transcription.
