How Reco works
- Press and hold the global shortcut, or double-tap it for latched recording.
- Record the microphone, system audio, or both.
- Release the shortcut to transcribe locally and paste into the active app.
Transcription model
Reco uses NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 through Core ML. The model downloads on first launch. Every recording after that is processed on-device.

Audio input
Use a connected microphone, system audio, or both. Reco remembers the input you prefer and mixes the selected sources locally.

Privacy
There is no transcription API. Recordings are temporary and deleted after transcription. Configuration is stored in a human-readable local file.
